While the Dead did play the tests, it really doesn't sound like they are playing any of the background instruments here. Vocals by Kesey, Babbs & others. On the last track, a Prankster says "Lets let the Dead sing" as Garcia & Co. plug in, and Jerry comes on mic, complaining that his voice is "completely shot." Note that the Prankster refers to the band as "the Dead," this is just 7 weeks after their first public gig billed with that moniker. Apparently, the name stuck, and fast.

Acid Test 10 of 19. A fantastic interview with Ken Kesey. Ken Babbs blaring the harmonica. More defined than previous Tests. Not too over the top for the night... It's just right.
