When Jerry died, Deadheads left a pile of flowers, candles, bears, photos, and other tributes on the steps of the house, which is occupied by ordinary citizens. After that, they put a low gate up. A lovely victorian house, BTW. This is a great interview. Jerry talks about music, the San Francisco scene and other bands and his interaction with them, and a variety of other interesting topics.

Listening to this, for me, has next to nothing to do with music. Jerry was f***ing brilliant, humble, honest, and as on as his music (by definition i suppose- stupid as it may sound to say). I experienced every emotion i'm capable of while listening to this. Possibly my favorite recording on these archives. OK, maybe i'm full of it, but as powerful as anything i've experienced, ever.

One of the things that makes listening to the Grateful Dead so rewarding is the rich history and ideology of its members and the general lifestyle that follows. I unfortunately never got to experience this atmosphere in a live show setting or met the band or anything so this type of recording is so immensely valuable personally. Jerry was inspiring in many ways and this interview shows why. A must listen for anyone invested in the dead as more than just ear candy.
