Spring of 1969. Great fidelity recording. It just doesn't get much better than this. Dark Star is a treat. Some great work in the middle segment with Jerry in particular pulling new licks out right and left, some unique almost Sputnik stuff after that, then they move into one of the most powerful climaxes of any Dark Star, and a Sitting on Top of the World tease before the final verse. Exquisite transition into a solid St.

Hot hot show - when Dark Star was Dark Star. Pigs harmonica is a little high on Schoolgirl, but a minor volume adjustment is all that's needed to enjoy. I love how he (pig) express' his thanks at the end of the song. As mentioned in another post, The Eleven is really strong- great Philbass comin' through, hearty jamming. I wished this song had remained in the line up over the years, but if i recall correctly, one of the members proclaimed the lyrics to be stupid and hard to sing.

Firstly, that Dark Star is wicked! Definitely one of my favorites! Moving on, The Eleven also stood out - I couldn't help but smiling at so many points. The last bit of the 2nd Cryptical was also killer. I had to pick my jaw off the floor on multiple occasions. Overall, this is fantastic Grateful Dead show with a pretty awesome sound. No complaints from me!
