This is a great performance by the band and a reminder of why I love the music of the Dead so much from this particular year. They start right off the bat with Lovelight and though it takes a little while for the band to groove, it turns out to be a great version which actually is only the beginning. After a bit of chaos, they launch into Me And My Uncle and then Doin' That Rag which really works. Rag is done well and contains some great jamming before they give way to He Was A Friend Of Mine.

This show, from June 14 of '69, is easily one of the most charged, energetic shows of all time. The sound quality of the recording is average, but the music is supercharged and nearly manic at times. This last screwball who rated this show doesn't know what he's talking about. The songs are out of order- check with older reviews if you care to get things in the right order, but they are all from this date. They're electric and tight.
