The stage banter described below can be heard on THIS copy: https://archive.org/details/gd1969-09-01.sbd.unknown.5042.shnf I attended this Festival and it was awesome! Fireworks going of simultaneously with an electrical lightning storm but we really didn't get rained on. Hundreds of naked people dancing in a long line and circle. At the beginning of this Dead performance Bob Weir says "Everybody say "GODAMMIT!" There was a reason for it.

Whoa. For some reason I don't remember hearing too many of these early versions, and thus don't know much about them, but this one is wild. They funkify the rhythm during the song HEAVILY with some unusual tempo changes - though it's a tad rough, and I might prefer the later arrangements, it is really cool to hear, and could have worked if they had kept it.
- ★★★★★ · The Late White Rabbit · cmcottrell · 2008
Transcribers have cut the stage banter between songs. During the Jefferson Airplane's set, some drunks up front kept yelling "White Rabbit," so of course, they didn't play it. These guys kept yelling for the song while the Grateful Dead set up and well into their set. Jerry said, "It's not our song," and Bob suggested that they listen to the record when they got home. The drunks kept on yelling, and other people in the audience were throwing stuff at them to get them to shut up.
