First set is acoustic. Don't Ease Me In with harmonica to start is killer. Dire Wolf is amazing as well. This show definitely rivals Reckoning for the best acoustic Dead show I have ever heard. Second set is electric. Apparently the New Riders played in between these sets so this show is LONG AS F***. Cosmic Charlie is sweet. Man's World is awesome. Blistering early Playin in the Band. This whole show is highlights. You would be pressed to find a better show from the Working Man's Dead time period.

Dick's Picks Volume 8. Nice harmonica on Don't Ease Me In right off the bat. Three sets on this show and the first is acoustic. This is one of my favorite versions of I Know You Rider. Very nice Cosmic Charlie. We get It's A Man's World which is dope. The Dancing in the Street solo sounds nothing like what they ended up doing in the mid to late 70s but they still do it for around 15 minutes.

Time and time again, when it's either too much from the night before, or too much Uncle Cid swimmin around, this is the show, the only sound I can bear.... When you cannot hold your coffee mug, that acoustic set is as good as pain meds! When you are pacing and hallucinating, let Jerry take you over the mountain, the electric set is a journey, my friend. Having now heard so many shows that we didn't easily have back in the day, I can compare the cream of the crop.

If you think for one second about the entirety of the Archive; millions of songs at your disposal, virtually everything seamless from phone to computer, and the ability to capture for yourself some semblance of a collection in an aging digital world. To wander aimlessly is absolute ignorance. You must intentionally decide on carrying through the mystery web with some kind of light, otherwise you are bound to get lost in a parade of decadence.

I know this will likely fall on deaf ears but I adore this set and this is legitimately the best recording on the internet of it, doubly so for the new riders' segment. I would love to be able to take it with me on long road trips and camping excursions devoid of internet, so please, dear archivist, please at least upload the new riders' set in a downloadable listing. All other recordings of it (unlike d****' picks) are off of the radio broadcast and not even comparable in quality. God bless.
