You can't go wrong with 1970 and this confirms that notion once again. Highlights include the New Speedway->Nobody's Fault->New Speedway jam, an increasingly rare Schoolgirl, and, of course, the NFA->Lovelight, played at a breakneck fast tempo. The jam into Lovelight from NFA is extremely hot and is a good example of how the Dead worked the song in this year-it would become far more laconic in the early part of '71 before picking up when Keith took over the keys.

Downloaded this back in December and listened to it a few times then. Listened to it again yesterday (with a better MP3 player), and found it even tastier than I remembered. Amazing (slide?) guitar on Good Morning Little Schoolgirl, energetic New Speedway Boogie, beautiful (first) Attics. Vocals spot on throughout. Jerry hits all the right notes in intro to St. Stephen. Levels a bit low during the great acoustic set. Fast becoming one of my favorite shows.

A great little sleeper show and one of the first 1970 shows I collected on tape. Not as good as the night after, for obvious reasons. And not really a tripped out kinda show. But boy, do thet play their a**** off! The Good Lovin is spectacular. And a rare (the first) Attics is nice to hear. But the show stopper is the New Speedway thru NFA and Lovelight - one of Pig's greatest. This show must be heard LOUD! Recommended. Dr. Flashback ;-)
