Pig missing, Keith filling in. Great show all together. Can't help but those these transitional shows. Early Ramble on Rose is bad a** and Jerry is having quite a fun time. His vocalizations are different than what the song would become and its cool to hear him developing what will soon become a gem. That's It For The Other one opener is solid with great phil/jerry interplay. This early Keith Godchaux concert shows him playing to impress.

So many ways to look at these shows, For this one Question: does it give a good representation to where the GD were at? Answer has to be overwhelmingly ---YES. No big hassles recorded over the Pa. As earlier mentioned band is loose. Tune Selection good! Nice mix in the 1st set Beautiful Harmonies on the jack Straw Got to be the tightest under 7 minute PITB (Go Keith) How sweet is the Brokedown mid set Then that 2nd set they go from some kinda Qualude Mellow Rock band into full-on Psychedelia.

This show is essential if only for the sheer awesomeness of the 21-minute Other One, the inclusion of an OO-> MAMU-> OO sandwich (which I love), and the very cool transition from the Cryptical reprise into Deal. I never realized before how well those two fit together!
