This 7-night stand at the Academy of Music was long overshadowed by the monumental Europe tour and the fact that, until a few years ago, was only available in barely listenable audience recordings. Well, this is a wonderful show from a wonderful run of shows that prove to be a great precursor to the epic Europe tour. The jam between CAUTION and UJB is some of the most beautiful music the band has played and kind of reminds me a little of MOUNTAIN JAM meets ZABRISKIE POINT.

Thank you so much, Charlie! Parts of this show were put onto the hard-to-find bonus disk that came with pre-orders of the "Rockin' The Rhein" set. That sweet jam at the end of "Caution" is bugging me too (see other review by mklsgl) - there's definitely some Zabriskie Point's "Love Scenes" in there, plus hints of "Attics", "We Bid You Goodnight" and something that sounds a bit like "Fennario" as done by Simon and Garfunkel.

Oh I wish I had that little jam before UJB as a separate cut and could play it as a loop. Sweetness doesn't get better than this. I agree w/ other reviewer: very reminiscent of Garcia's work on the Zabriskie Point soundtrack.
