Love this show! I have to agree w/ the others it is one of the best. Sugaree was very well put together. Uncle and BTW were awesome. During China Cat, I went into this crazy tangent looking up the lyrics and potential meaning of the lyrics. I found a great site, http://arts.ucsc.edu/Gdead/AGDL/china.html by David Dodd. Re-read these lyrics and try to get into the mind that would write such poetry.

This is the show that got me, and many many others, into the Dead. So many of the songs on this setlist are my favourite ever live performances of them. Why? Because Jerry's riffs are perfectly chosen. The jamming is inspired. Everyone is playing in perfect harmony with each other. And the banter between tracks is entertaining, making you feel like you were there (what I wouldn't give to have been there....).

  • ★★★★★ · Veneta/Eugene/SF/Santa Cruz · dreatimeland · 2015

When the Dead were not on tour where did many of the core Dead Heads go? The reason why this is show is so exceptional is because so many Heads lived/live in Eugene, as well as SF and Santa Cruz. Not only is the quality of the music exceptional, but the overall environment would have been so high. When I listen to the these GD shows on the archive I try to imagine what the surrounding environment (the venue, audience, GD band members, historical significance) was like at that time.
