The AUD portion is hard to listen to unless you're really into what's being played, and for that, Bird Song & Playin' are definitely worth one's time. The vocals are really off, though. The SBD is very warm-sounding & the vocals don't drown out the instruments, which is a nice treat. The horns are a nicer one. They're very loose & sort of Louisiana-style (like a cross between Mingus & the Dirty Dozen), and the regulars (especially Garcia) are all playing extremely well.

I just love this show. The horns are present on the majority of the second set which is awesome. The Eyes and jam in Let it Grow are schorchers and the flute in WRS Prelude is very delicate and sweet. Sound is nice and crisp (Phil is a little light but that may just be on my setup on the ol' computer). The band is very tight and the horns fill in well. Heard this on Dead Hour many years ago and couldn't wait to get a new copy! A must have for anyone who digs the horns with the Dead!
