uncle johns is always one of my favs. this is a great version with Playin around it. love the early 70's stuff. it really goes to show you how good these guys were. i saw somewhere in the neighborhood of 10-15 shows and they were all AMAZING. funny thing is, that in my humble opinion, none of the shows i saw were even close to what was coming out of them in the late 60's/early 70's period. i also loved the mid-late 80's. brent really injected a passion i feel had been gone since pigpen died.

I had been listening to the Dead for a couple of years by the time the summer of 74 rolled around, but had never seen pictures or video of the band except for album covers. One night the guys are out back drinking, and the Dead get their turn on the turntable, and my best friend, who had never listened to them before, started dancing and moving that I later saw at many Dead shows later.

I felt like today of all days I should listen to a good show. Ive been stuck in 72 for a while so i thought I'd go down the road a bit. This is a great show I've never really gave it the hard listen it deserved, my loss I always love when I feel like Ive discovered something ive missed. First set ends on grate playin uncle john's 2nd set has alotta original improve. My son is breathin down my neck to get on line so 5stars great show worthy of a birthday play. HAPPY BIRTHDAY JERRY!
