Not sure, but I think this was there very first show at the Cap Center. I didn't get to see them at the Cap Center until the 90's. Although, some of the shows I saw there were really good shows, some of the outside parking lot scenes were terrible. Having way too many "Event Staff" walking around and being absolutely ugly @$$holes to people that paid good money to get treated like crap! Evidently some people caused a stink about it cuz it wasn't like that the following year.

so this isn't one of the heavy hitters like 5/19 or 6/23, but more people outta know about this sweet little show. there are lots of highlights, but i won't go into too much detail here...if you listen to one thing besides the great 2nd set jams, listen to the Weather Report Suite. after many repeated listenings, i honestly think it gives 6/18 and 7/19 a pretty solid run for their money. Jerry is absolutely ON FIRE during this very energetic, fluid LIG jam, a definite must hear moment...

I didn't start going to shows until the 80s, so I never really listened to older stuff, except live albums. This is so beautiful. Right now I'm listening to the beginning of Weather Report Suite, sounds like acoustics. I never heard this side of them, really. They were more driving and powerful later, but sweeter here. Oh, and Sugaree and Black Throated Wind are beautiful and powerful. A near perfect show. Thanks for this treat!
