Okay, my turn to rant on another level. I'm sick to death of the spoiled so called heads who cry about the Dead wanting control of distribution of their (emphasis on THEIR) music. Also keep in mind that they still employ a hell of a lot of people who depend on them even though the Grateful Dead don't extist. As Bob Weir stated if you can figure out a way to keep the downloads free & still be able to pay all of the GDP & GDM folks then no problem.

I consider this 'new' Dead, and am pleased with myself for even visiting '76 today. Having revealed my age and bias, I would ask the younger heads to visit 1970 and 1971. Several things converge in 1970: Pigpen's last full year of health and touring The appearance, in the spring, of acoustic sets (instigated by an equipment malfunction!) Electric sets with all the psychedelic intensity of anything they did in '68 or '69 In the spring of '71 is the original five-man line up.
