This is one of those gems that should be in everyone's collection. Fantastic sound quality that highlights how much fun the band was having that night. It seems as though the Capitol Theater had a mandate that the Dead would play peak shows there, and this is a great example. The opening Help> Slip> Franklins> Music Never Stopped sets the stage for an amazing night, this is just fantastic playing with the band very tight. The Cassidy is picture perfect, probably my favorite version.

this is one of my favorite shows from the late 70s. killer setlist all the way through. The first set starts off a little shaky with a not perfect help/slip but they get it by franklin's. overall terrific array of songs. second set is where it really gets hot imo. extremely emotional high times, jerrys voice is really pouring out straight from the heart this whole set more than it always regularly is imo.

This has to be my favourite show by far! From the first second until the end of Brown Eyed Women I can't hear traffic, family or my own thoughts... Some of the best transitions out there, from Franklin's to Music... makes me tingle... Probably the the coolest Brown Eyed Women too! This show is one of the first in a string of shows that spans almost four years where the dead are on almost every night.
