all around, the dead as live dead was back in the day,we paid under 20 bucks to see them, couple of shows each year near and far and loved everyone for each one was what it was.i went to see the dead as the dead was, live, was not Europe 72 or working mans dead,it was everything that went into it at that open window.large parking lots to shows in an old theater, college towns, outdoor racetracks, man the dancing shoes!the women wearing patchouli and the heads smoking those clove cigs!big bags of…

The vinyl edition that came out for Record Store Day is awesome. Glasser did a magnificent job of mastering Betty's feed. Super crisp sound with lots of bottom. Great performance. And the cover art by Tony Millionaire is brilliant. He should be doing DP covers.

....at least the 2nd set. The 1st set is nothing to write home about by 1977 measure, but features a lyrical, superb "They Love Each Other" and a strong "Brown-Eyed Women". "Music" to close the set is another tasty treat. I'm loving the 2nd set, warts and all. The real goods are delivered when "Playin'" arrives; from here on in the show is just awesome. "Playin'" is good and spooky during the jam and gets pretty weird & quite tasty toward the end, before meandering into "Drums".
