I am reliving another beautiful Grateful Dead experience while I'm listening to He's Gone > Truckin' > Wharf Rat > Around & Around ...just another freakin' stunner of a show here folks. I've gone through many a year throughout this treasure trove of bliss and I keep coming back to this one year -not just because it was the year I became a bonafide deadhead but also because there simply is no denying that 1977 was, without any further doubt, the crowning jewel on the Dead's helm.

This is a wonderful one from start to finish. People rave so much (with good reason) about the May run that these end-of-year shows get kind of overlooked, but except for the 31st, all of the shows of this run at Winterland are the bomb. The boys played with such fire and enthusiasm the first three nights that they shot their wad and were subdued on the NYE.
