If you are a fan of '77, as I, especially the final run of the year at Winterland, you will find this appealing and quite satisfying. Though Jerry's vocal show the lingering effects of the laryngitis he seemed determined to make up for it with his playing and the band follows happily along. An eclectic set list, but they all shine on this nite, even the Oldie Standards (i.e. Brown Eyed Women, Me & My Uncle, Jack Straw, etc.)glow brightly.

This was my first of some 200 plus shows. The crowd was a buzz...in more ways than one...with anticipation regarding if Jerry would sing or not. Well, the opening notes are clearly Bertha and as Jerry steps to the mic, grin ear to ear, belts out "I had a hard run"...the crowd explodes with joy. You see, Jerry had laryngitis the few shows before and Bobby did all the singing. This was a great way to start my journey with the Dead!!

Jerry's voice sounds great. Kinda sexy, ya know, like Lauren Bacall. But seriously, this is f-ing unbelievable! I'm from the 80's and 90's class of Deadhead graduates. I thought my favorite Music Never Stopped was from a show I saw in Oakland in '92 (BTW, the show sucked, but "Music" was amazing"). Thank for the show. A perfect recording of a perfect show. I'm so grateful.
