- ★★★★★ · Great '78 · hitmeister · 2015
Up until drums, this show is solid but not exceptional. Spring '78 featured some really long, cool drums segments, and this is a good one. Towards the end, it sound like the band is having a great ol' time with a little chant going on in the background. Post drums is amazing. I'm a big fan of the '78 NFAs, and this is a real good example. Then comes Wharf Rat. It's a slow, mournful version, and then all hell breaks loose when it's time for the guitar solo.

Yes, a truly fantastic audience recording - who needs a soundboard? It's *that* good. Standard set list, but well played with highlights being a super intense Jack Straw, solid Peggy-O, and insane Deal. But the centerpiece of the show is Wharf Rat: it's very nearly perfect, with those majestic harmonies which put the 76-78 versions over the top, and with two pummeling, soaring end jams that are as inspired as anything this band ever played. Magic.
- ★★★★★ · Another Killer Joani Walker Audience · gankmore · 2010
I think Joani Walker is one of the greatest unsung heroes of the grateful dead community. The stellar recordings we have from Walker, Scotton and Miller, are probably the greatest single collections of recordings in the entire GD archive. Charlie Miller has done a ton of transfers of other materials, but there's no denying how critical the Scotton/Walker connection is in our ability to access high quality versions of these shows.
