- ★★★★★ · Ready For Anything From Egypt With Love · Evan S. Hunt · 2008
One thing about going to a Grateful Dead concert is that you have to be ready for anything. This was my fourth in a row and when out came Hamza El Din I thought oh no! long, boring drum solo, and it was. We're out in the audience all hopped-up, raring to go and champing at the bit for rock and roll and they start set one with Youd and bongos. Expect anything. Be Ready. But we got thru it all right, what can I say?

- ★★★★★ · A core performance · Teaklee · 2006
Every year has its core shows. Every era has a few shows that captures the band at their peak right before they move on and explore new directions. They did that throughout their career, which for some keeps the music fresh, while disenchanting others who liked it they way it was. Anyways back to this show...which is a fine example of the 1978 sound which featured an very "clean" sound from Garcia and slide guitar work from Weir. Plus Donna finally seemed to find her place in the overall sound.
- ★★★★★ · From Egypt with MUCH LOVE ! · Slipknot ! · 2004
IMHO,as a long time Deadhead, this 2nd set is truly INSPIRED and absolutely mind blowing. When I picked up and moved to Tahoe back in the day, I was only able to take a handful of my tapes in my backpack. Well, this one (out of 100's) made the move. This is simply a must hear. Pay close attention to the 'Estimated > He's Gone', but it is the insane 'JAM > MOJO (w/ Lee Oskar on Harmonica) !!! > THE OTHER ONE !!!!' that tears the whole building down.
