Ok, a story to tell. . . 56 yrs old now, lifelong deadhead, was in college in 1978 in Boston, we all knew the Dead were in town. Anyway, I also knew they stayed during that period at the Parker House, and somehow miraculously ran spotted Donna Jean and her long lusious maine running into the CVS on Tremont St at about 1:00pm the day of their first show on the 13th.

First year of college, coming down from Maine with no ticket but praying to the One, the Only One that I should get a ticket for $10. We got to Boston and it was double sold out with thousands of people looking for a ticket. First time that I thought I may end up spending the night in a bar. Just as my friends were about to go in, Dave runs into his brother Ralphie, who says, "Anybody need a ticket?

6 of us at the University of NH heard a rumor tickets would be going on sale at the Music Hall Box Office. We drove down the evening before and spent the night on the street in front of the box office. When they did start selling tickets, we scored 12 floor tickets (2 per person) then got back in line and went through again. Russell meanwhile took the T back to his hometown and emptied out his savings account. We returned to UNH with 76 tickets and sold them all in the dorm (Gibbs Hall).
