What is a newbie like me being the first to review this show?? Sure, the quality suffers a little from multiple sources, but i believe Charlie has crafted a fine representation, way better than good enough. I actually enjoy some of the places where the sbd and aud tapes bleed into each other. It's kind of like those moments when you wobble your head up to survey the scene around you and remember where you are and why you are flailing around, leaving your mind to return to the world.

What a .... UNIQUE, yes that's the word, 2nd set! As for the sound quality--Some of it should be a one, other sources, between two and four (four is perhaps too generous). The recordings used for putting this together vary in quality so extremely that I can't give it a top rating. But it's fantastic that such an effort was made at all, cross fading this source with that and that with another.

Everyone knows about this 2nd set, or you wouldn't be here. I can make a long story short-it contains some of the finest improvisation the band ever played. Its a chaotic, formless, raging, jazzy free for all! This set features my favorite versions of Jack A Roe (to open the set nonetheless), Shakedown St. (super chunky funky), and World to Give (I always thought Bobby's slide sounded like seagulls).. The 2nd set is a must listen, must own, must stream, must-have.
