I remembered this was a Monday night. I’m a 15-years old who only knew Truckin and Johnny B Goode. Lived in the NW suburbs and told my parents that there was a thing at HS then we were going back to someone’s house and that I would go to school from there. Vague enough to not get fact checked. In the rafters. Was into classic rock rock and heavy metal. It was a great adventure. We went with a friend who was 16 years old and already had his license and could drive.

Got this from Dead.net Hold on to your hat, we’re coming in strong with one from the Windy City that’ll have you movin’ and shakin’ from start to finish. DAVE’S PICKS VOLUME 31: UPTOWN THEATRE, CHICAGO, IL 12/3/79 signals a true rebirth of the Grateful Dead, reimagining classics and foreshadowing their 80s sound. This is as much in part due to freshly-minted member Brent Mydland bringing the organ back in as it is to Jerry finding new vivacity with his custom Wolf guitar.

boy this is fun. the sound is terrific - can really pick up different tones on Jerry's guitar. You know it's a good night when "All Over Now" gets you. simply three chord white boy blues, but its toe-tapping good, jerry's licks are rollin and tumblin, and brent's organ is ripping. Also, I think was unaware of jack-a-roe played in 1979. Its a bit closer to the 1977 version I know (that got put on the fall-out from the Phil zone).
