What a SMOKIN' hot show in such a great old venue. The Uptown was an old movie house. MAYbe it held 10k people. I'm totally guessing. This was the Dead at their finest one chilly night in 1979. Back in the day when every band member was still accessible. This show is one great example of how the audience fed the band which in turn played better and better. An absolute rage of a show!

But DUDE. This show sounds sterling. Not only is the playing hot and heavy, in one of the best eras of Dead you're ever going to hear, but to have an audience copy that captures the excitement of the crowd as well as the intricacy of the music with such clarity? This day at work just got a hell of a lot better.
