- ★★★★★ · Great show at one of my favorite venues!! · Purple Gel · 2007
This was the first of three shows that I attended at this amphitheater. What a great venue, just outside the Zoo, a smallish terraced amphitheater with red Clay and grass, with trees all around the perimeter. The place held about 7,00 people so it was a pretty intimate setting for an outdoor show. This show kicks off with a slow funky 1st set Shakedown, which I thought was the slowest version until Denver 10 days later, and just takes off after that.

- ★★★★ · Clean Sound from the Zoo · spacecowboy · 2005
81 at the Zoo offers the listener a clean, full band sound. Felipe Lesh was often muted in most boards during this period which is a shame but the Zoo shows have him nicely in the mix. Check out the end of Shakedown after the vocal jamming. Felipe lays down this slow heavy bass line that is infectious. It has a 1980 Stranger jam feel to it that I find irresistable.
