ah, yes. i've had cassettes, then the semi-passable sbd that was posted on gdlive several years ago. this recording is "the best," though a phat fob would steal the show. let it grow->china->rider to close first set? sign me up. sure, there are some lyrical jumbles, but i'll take it. this is the blending of two eras, taking the best from both. there's that laid back '79 funk groove blending with the soon to be raunchy mid-80s raunch. shakedown notes are jammed but well thought out.

- ★★★★★ · My Favourite Wheel · sydthecat · 2006
There are Wheels from '76 that I adore And a few myself have seen before That blew my mind whether stoned or no On many things (but never blow) But of all the Wheels under the sun This is my fave and I mean bar none. It ain't that this one is the best Or just 'cause it was played in the West It just touches my heart more than the rest And that my friends is the only test. F#$%in' good Shakedown too.!
- ★★★★★ · Shakedown thru The Wheel! · Cpnnoah · 2024
The Shakedwon and Lost sailor>Saint O alone put it on the all timer shortlist but that WHEEL!! Holy god! The opening with the Garcia delay effect used to perfection is like whale sounds spreading out across the oceans of the world. Have never heard another one quite like it that intros with such a subliminally perfect aurora borealis effect. Perfection. Brent helps throughout. God love ya…. Thank you
