This is a show that has not received much notice. Mainly, I think, because until recently there were no solid sources for it. The version that was previously available was tinny and Phil was totally washed out. This was the third night of a phenomenal run. Each night had it's unique feel. The 11th was a kind of spacey, classic night time Dead show. The 12th was b**** out straight ahead jamming, and this show was a nice mellow afternoon affair.

One more add to Purple Gel. As I remember it, it was Phil who took off his bass and started limping towards backstage when Brent went into Never Trust A Woman. Then he kind of said, "What the heck", limped back to his amp and started playing. I remember wondering what was wrong with his leg - because he wasn't limping during the first set. But he *crushed* Never Trust. Another thought about this run.

Just a few more thoughts to add to Purple Gel's great review. First Jerry was done and heading backstage after he finished Terrapin. Brent started playing and signing NTAW. Jerry actually walked back and strapped his guitar on again. He even raised hi eyebrows seemingly a little surprised that Brent asserted himself. During space Mickey played the beam and made the air shake at the Greek.
