  • ★★★★★ · Post drums is great · Dylan M · 2012

The Entire show is fire (as was much of oct 81' Europe tour) but the post drums is really worth a listen. The way they break up Sugar Mags and the Stella Blue starts off mellow but really picks up steam in the final jam with a big triumphant climax, too bad they don't really transition it well into Good Lovin', but both songs still kill. Nice to hear some quality 81' Dead. High energy and still killing it.

  • ★★★★ · He's gone · pierre1959 · 2014

This He's gone was for Anwar Sadat, the president of Egypt who was assassinated (along with many other people by his own troops while watching a military parade) shortly before this show. His wife was instrumental in getting the Dead permission to play at the Pyramids in 1978. Perhaps the Blues For Allah theme in space is a tribute to his Arabic heritage as well, I like to think so. Really good show, one of the best of the tour.
