Haven't listened to this yet, just perusing. I can remember going with my extraterrestrial GF at the time. We both religiously propped the dudes up on the alter during the 70s and found a news clip or something for this not-sure show. But loaded in the Dragnet-mobile, a 1966 black Valiant, we went, of course. OH GOD...Joan was there. Mickey had been bitten by the vampiress and was bleeding for her. I remember We were spaced and having fun. I yelled..."Stone the martyr....

I am soooooooo grateful to find this show here. I was there, no promise of the dead, just a hint (3 or 4 band members were listed as Joan's "friends") At this show a friend of mine turned to his buddy and asked "so how do they make you feel when they play?" the response: "anywhere from wanting to throw a rotten tomatoe on stage to wanting to SELL EVERYTHING AND FOLLOW THEM EVERYWHERE" I haven't yet done either but I think it was this show that took me from a "fan" to a "head" THANK YOU!

This show was advertised as a Dance For Disarmament benefit w/Joan Baez and friends, including Jerry & Bob and was held at an old fairgrounds exhibit hall. No mention of electric Dead was advertised anywhere. Tix were snapped up rather quickly and I recall many folks getting shut out. Even as we got in and saw Mickey Hart and Mimi Farina's sets, there was still no reason to believe the Dead would play a set.
