I really like the early 80's Dead. I think there was a new found energy to the Dead after their break in the late 70's and this energy is mixed with the seasoned experience that comes from playing together for so long. Garcia on Tiger is a sound I will always love. In this show Garcia is simply on fire. He brings on waves of euphoria and the band is right there with him. This was clearly a night where the magic of the Grateful Dead was at full energy levels.

Bobby's guitar tone is really on tonight. It's this show that made me realize he's one of the greatest rhythm guitar players in the world,if you can even call him a rhythm guitar player or even a musician for that matter. Bob Weir is more an artist than anything. A walking encyclopedia of broken guitar chords. His playing resembles a cartoon almost, the way it glows and how he highlites certain accents and phrases.
