I was in the U.S. Army (but already a 10 year Deadhead) and drove up from Monterey to attend this show. Stupid of me not to have gone to all three, BUT...... ...this baby did not disappoint, and was arguably the best of the three. I remember how utterly crystal-clear the sound system was, and how relaxed and healthy the guys were. They were superbly tight , just crackling, and Bobby was in fine form especially, blowing a penny whistle (expertly) during Space.

Yes, although I missed the last two years at the Greek, I still maintain the first two years were the best ! Even as good, as many of the folowing years were. Unfortunately, at least as far as I've seen, (perhaps in books I've yet to read), there aren't many photos of the Tie-Dye from this year. There are quite a few pictures of the next year, and indeed it was memorable but an range of 2.8-3.5 hours of music, (counting 1981 as well), amid the most wild colored sheets I've probably ever seen…

destroyed that dude. By the way, whats up with using all caps. That's wacked out in itself. So you defie someone to find a better Woman are Smarter? Well I just listened to it and its good. You state the obvious, take a stab in the dark at any of these songs from Greek 82 and they will be above average if not best of's. That being said I prefer the later 80's versions esp. the 89 tour. There are some real good 85's like 6-27 Saratoga and 9-11-85 HJK.
