I went to this concert on a lark, just to see what the big deal was about the Dead. I'd heard their music but never quite got it. Before the concert I sat in my car with my girlfriend and took a shot of rum each, snorted some coke, dropped some acid, and smoked some pot. Then went to the concert. At one point during the concert, I realized something amazing was happening.

The reviews below are yet more evidence, to me, that Deadheads are listening to something other than the music. This is the best show, musically, that the band did all month! The sound quality of the recording may be annoying (it is), and you may have had a better time down in Veneta, but neither of those things matter if you're listening to the actual music, which is why the Dead were there: they played music! Anyway, everybody is playing awesomely on this one. Check it out!

IIRC, the show ended just before midnight due to the venue's curfew. Of course, I could be wrong. Most of the summer '82, '83,'84, '85 shows ended a few minutes before midnight because of that rude curfew.
