This was the first ticket I ever bought from the Grateful Dead...$12.50...lol...gone are the days. Anyway, the show smokes with Playing in the Band theme running through out the show. The second set is the kicker. From Shakedown to the end, it is great jamming. The jam out of space in NFA is really grooving and this Stella Blue is probably the best I have ever heard, you can feel every note. As Bob said during St. of Circumstance "what the f*** you gonna do now!"...download this show.

I can't tell you how many shows i walked out of where people around me complained. "They should have played...(fill in the blank)." "I didn't like the ____ jam." "I can't believe they played ____ again." Jerry is gone, and I hear people brag about how many shows they have seen. People paid thousands (too rich for me!) to see the Fare Thee Well shows. It just seems strange for people to bash this show at the Cap Center. It was my second show, and I LOVED IT!

It seems that commentary is mixed for this show. I have always had a soft place for '82 shows b/c that is when I got on board. But I must admit to not being privy to this show. First, not sure if the jams were official - but 3 playin jams? Plus the opening!? Wow. I think the sound is hindered a bit during the opening 2 #'s - but the rest of the show is pretty clear. Rooster - someone else said - is HOT. Going into that blues number from a playin's jam? What a call by Weir.
