Loved this show, start to finish. Etta James & Tower of Power horns a true delight. Etta came out just bouncing all over the stage, it was great. Although it took them a couple minutes before the horns were mic'd and heard, then it sounded awesome. Here's some fun trivia you might remember if you were standing close enough to notice. During Franklin's Tower, sometime during the "Some come to laugh the past away" verse and chorus, Bobby broke a string.

Barely talked about or mentioned as far as i can remember in my circles, this night before new years show is a true five star experience. Great Sound, one of those rare times where vocals, bass, guitar, keys, and drums are perfectly level and even. The 82' sound is here and there, but from Summer tour on they really let out some classics. This is one of them. Great setlist, great sound. Love the unusual 1st set song placement.
- ★★★★★ · The peak of 82 New Years shows · jpotts3 · 2006
This was THE night of the 82 New Years Run. Dec 31 was ok, but not as hot as this, no question about it. The Franklin's Tower from out of nowhere, leaping up from the closing notes of Throwing stones- it blew the roof off the place, man! Every song, all night, straight on Grateful Dead at its 80's style best. This was my first time at the New Years Eve series of shows...california dreaming, memorable indeed! Enjoy And check the encores!!!
