Etta James, Tower of Power horns, Matt Kelly, John Cipollina — Oakland Auditorium, New Years Eve. Etta James and the Tower of Power horns powered the entire third set (Lovelight, Tell Mama, Hard to Handle, In the Midnight Hour), with Matt Kelly and John Cipollina also sitting in.

Listened to this one a few times now, great show. The last set with Etta James and the Tower of Power is a must-listen This one has special meaning, as I was born on 1982-12-31... I was around 10 hours old when all this was happening! I'm glad the boys were on fire that night! I'd have loved to see it in person.

Ugh, do they have to have those goddamned horns again? The last songs in the 2nd set sound like a damned awful marching band. Thankfully they only did this for a special occasion. Just bloody freaking awful sound.
