I was at this one about 3 rows back directly in front of Jerry. Nice thing about this place it was SMALL! I think about 1500 people total. Stage low and seats right up front, no barrier. It was heavy seeing them this close with it so loud in a small space. Great rare opener with Walkin' The Dog, bird song was spinning and weaving and Jerry's glasses were rimmed with 300 colours.

- ★★★★★ · An Estimated Excellent Show · Evan S. Hunt · 2010
Three mistakes in the first set. The rest of it is choice. Estimated features some jaw-dropping Garcia and Weir fanning. All the way hence until... The hated Day Job encore. This entire run of the first Rex Foundation shows -- at Marin Civic -- is epic Grateful Dead. They were rested, comfortably at home and wanted to play well. And they did. All of these shows are inspired works of art from the band during an encroaching weak period -- sort of a last hurrah? Whoever knew?

OK, Garcia's guitar drops out during Shakedown, which would normally be a killer for me, but it barely effects the epic groove that is achieved here. Best post '76 Spanish Jam I can recall maybe best ever. Bob says, "voices tell me what to take" in a Freudian slip in Estimated & cracks up. That is really all the reason you need to download this show and start grinning now.
