I was there and will never forget it, one of my first shows was close to the front then went upstairs. Scarlet->Fire was one of the greatest moments of my life. The jam between Scarlet and Fire was excellent and the Jerry wanting to play eyes thing repeated several times that evening. East coast crowds were most intense and I saw a bunch of shows there and more out west outdoors.

During Fire Mickey came out from behind his kit and played talking drum. First and only time I saw him do that during a tune. Of course he did it many times during drums. Anyway it comes through very nicely on the recording. During intermission this military dude, huge, took his clothes off on the floor and took a p***. He was clearly freaking out on psychedelics. A circle of heads moved away as he rolled around on the floor. Quite scary actually, broken glass stuck in his back.

hey, first night 1984 east coast spring tour at hampton... like the unusual dayjob/dont ease 1st set bookends but the scarlet/fire and estimated rule the show, and set stage for lovely, rockin' conclusion. bobby pretty out there w/ the enthusiasm level, and like it. very nice audio quality that draws you right in. thx for this killer effort.
