While this might not be your idea of a five-star show, for 1984, this is a true jaw-dropper. Do not let the audience source worry you, it's an excellent source (albeit a little bit more low-end response would be nice). Highlights: ----------- Me & My Uncle > Mexicali Blues -- Okay, you might be saying, these are standard Bobby tunes, what could be so great? Well, both of these are perfectly executed at a nice, fast tempo with especially tasteful Jerry mini-solos in Mexicali.

If you like it, it's "good". On the other hand, if your purpose is to pick it apart and re-assemble it so it looks like a thing you imagine it to be or want it to be, it may have become something else entirely. Perception being what it is. I happen to like the particular nuances and headrooms of the various shows but, now that my 3 1/2 star career in the cannibalistic business of Rock and Roll is over, I suppose that I am rather easily amused and entertained. There sure ain't no shortage of R.

The Shakedown St. is pretty strong with Jerry banging that first solo and Yea, I could see Brent cold running s*** up there. He used some of his hard core deep buzzers a few times, I like that stuff. I always get a laugh or question some of my fellow Dead Head freinds when I read 84 down year, Man you gotta be kidding, they were smokin hot. I love the whole 1984 tour its strong. Never understand weak set list or whatever its weird. The end of Shakedown St. is pretty trippy.
