Back in 84, I didn't have any good taper connections and the few bootlegs I had all sounded like crap. I received this show in the Fall of 84 and it was the 1st tape I had that actually sounded good (FM broadcast). This show introduced me to songs I had never heard before, namely, Bucket, TLEO, BIODTL, Good Times B's, The Wheel, and Throwing Stones. This show has my favorite versions of TLEO, Birdsong, and LLR. I think the whole 1st set is killer, even though the Duprees is kinda choppy.

A bunch of my bay area Deadhead buds got together the night of this show at my house, filled the ice chest with imports, fired up the bbq and ran at least 6 tape decks. It was a seriously fun night made all the better with an above average Dead show. LL Rain, Scarlet->Fire and the cool encores are just some of the highlights. Kesey was the MC at this show and did some pre-show commentary for the broadcast .

I agree! Most likely the best show of 84. Also, by far the best version of they loved each other ever performed! check it out... BIrd song triptic also! One of my all time favorite first sets of the 80's VERY IMPORTANT, ON THE EQ REDUCE THE TREBLE SETTING TO MINUS 1 OR MINUS 2 AND THE SHOW WILL COME ALIVE! HAPPY LISTENING
