This was my first dead show. My first acid trip. My first hitchhiking experience. The summer before my first year of college. My buddy Wil Kezema I were dropped off at the intersection of route 35 and 684...by my mom (Hester) where my mom helped me make a sign out of cardboard with GRATEFUL DEAD in black letters and roses on each corner! Got picked up by two dude from Dartmouth in a camero or some smaller sporty car.

We drove from connecticut...got a hotel in town and had 8 guys piled in the room...I remember splitting the mattresses and had 5 total beds after grabbing one from the hallway. The morning of the show my friend was carrying out one of the mattresses and by accident hit the fire alarm and set it off. So, evacuation in place..one of the maids came into the bathroom to get my friend out of the shower..his leg was broken and hanging out of the shower.
