Second night of a two night run. Another night of high energy. Cumberland Blues is a definite highlight of the first set. Probably one of the highest octane Music Never Stopped ever. Killer Lost Sailor. Uncle John into drums into Playing in the Band back into Uncle John. Wow.

Every so often, when you can't go to all the shows on any tour, you pick one of several, and voila. I'd say this was the best show I ever saw out of 100 or so. Once they broke into On the Road Again, I knew it would be a good one. Little did I know that would be the last time they'd do it. Then came Jack a Roe, my first, and hmmm, Roses,On,Jack A Roe, that was three in a row off Reckoning. Interesting. Then It's All Over Now, which I always thought ok.
- ★★★★★ · One of the top 3 Dead shows I ever attended · mountain_jim · 2007
This show, along with Red Rocks 9/6/83 and Hampton 10/9/89, were my top 3 GD shows attended (of 100 in the years 78-95) Today is the first time I searched archive.org for the Grateful Dead, and I was surprised to see this show (and source) listed first. I will never forget the single white spotlight on Jerry while he spilled his guts emotionally during this Dew, while the rest of the stage was fairly dark.

I remember this. While I did not attend this show, I did catch the Meadowlands and Syracuse shows at the end of the tour with friends. they were great shows as well, but in hind sight, I wish I had been able to attend the Augusta shows as well. Hinx, if you're out there somewhere, I'd love to hear from you. Any way, I want to add to the long list of great reviews for this show. My take is mainly on the first set.
