Gratefulshrink, how do you come up with "1966-77"? Are we talking about Grateful Dead or early Ford Broncos? I love the blanket edicts heard on Archive.org. Why not '78? Or let's make it good and clean and say, '79 so we can put the marker at K&D's departure. Personally, I beleive that after 12-31-77 (or whatever dateline certain reviewers choose) the incredible music GD continued to create no longer fit into certain reviewer's limited scope of perception and willingness to grow.

This by no means is worth 5 stars in my mind as far as the show goes(the sound is maybe a 5), but it's close thanks to the beautiful Black Peter near the end of the second set. After Jerry's coma you definetely notice a new outlook in the way he sings any songs relating to death, no exception to this one. Get this show for the Black Peter! And if ur a fan of booming bass that will make you p*** yourself, get this show for the Scarlet>Fire.

The bus came by and I got on. This was 87', the glory days for the band. At this point in their run they were polished technically and graciously accepting of their roles. This was the rebirth of 1977 multiplied. They were on the edge of mainstream and super stardom living it all over with much more knowledge and appreciation and more seductive in conquering. Mountain Aire' @ Calaveras co. was the high. Drums were legendary in 87'
