From my old notes (I was lucky enough to be at this run of shows back in '88), drums were joined by Baba Olatunji.

1st Set: Whaddya know?! why not go old-school and open the show with "Music?" Frankly, I think it could be a show closer too...Not explosive, but good times...Instead of climaxing with the song they elect to enter "Sugaree" territory. Jerry mumbles up a false start but things go smoothly from there. It's akin to a comfortable stroll in a park. A couple of minutes of tuning leads us to the c***-a-doodle-doo "Rooster." Yea to Jerry's twilling at 7:00. pretty standard otherwise.

Overall: Another really solid night at the Greek Theater. The sound quality on this recording is fantastic as well. Phil's bass is more in the mix tonight than last night. The scene: during the day, there was a free show at the music concourse in Golden Gate Park. It was to celebrate the end of a "Peace Walk" done by a group with people from USSR and USA (remember these were still the days of the cold war).
