- ★★★★ · Finally found my first show!!! Happy, Happy! Joy, Joy! · acapulco · 2005
Thank you everyone who contributes to this archive. My friends at my college job in a mexican restaurant in San Diego started giving me tapes to listen to after I mentioned listening to the Deadhead Hour on the radio. So they invited me to come along to this show and I was overwhelmed by the whole scene. This show was quite a first show to see! I didn't realize it at the time since I didn't know much. I remember asking "do you think they'll play "Iko Iko"?

- ★★★★ · Runaway Train venue · StMaas · 2005
I camped in the parking lot this weekend, and wen tin via the front gates each day...way more people than tix was just one part of the problem; the lore was that you could walk around the back of the venue and over the hill, if you could get over the fence and into the lawn crowd...problem was several hundred at least tried this, and someone produced wire cutters to open a section of the fence - the crowd rushed in to the swinging fists of the Saddleback CC football team, not a pretty site.
- ★★★★ · Jerry's Backyard BBQ · DanielMcfate · 2006
I remember these shows vividly! Irvine Meadows was one of my favorite venues for seeing the boys and they were hot on this particular night. One of the people I was with turned around during the first set and said; " It's like being at Jerry's country western Backyard BBQ tonight". The band was tight and the seen was chaotic with people coming over the back fence. After the show I remember the yellow jackets roughing people up and seeing folks in these makeshift cages/jails.
