First, the Bertha on this recording is one of the best I've ever heard. Fantastic energy and really captures that elusive "tight looseness" the band strived for. You heard it a lot at shows, but it rarely seems to make its way through in recordings. At times it sounds like the band is a single organism, every player adding their own embellishments in perfect unison with the drummers who, in this recording, steam along at fine pace, laying down an intense poly-rythmic groove.

Just when i thought i had heard them all. The Dead still manage to amaze me. I had never heard California EArthquake until I cl8icked toda in Dead history this morning. Imagine my delight and surprise when i saw a song i had NEVER heard, after a few gazillion hours o listening. Thank you Archive and all who sails her and of course the Good Ol' Grateful Dead. Peace:Skippy

This was my first show, so I may be a little biased, but after this, I was hooked. I remember loving Bretts "I Will Take You Home", and really digging "Standing On The Moon", but the "Terrapin", my favourite album at that time really blew me away. The sound is great on this, and I'm glad to have been there.
