Hearing this recording brings me right back, as I was luck enough to attend this show. We rolled up from D.C. and, while I hated going to shows without tickets, were able to score some (plus some great d*ses) fairly easily, considering how popular that Dead was as this point. I got a sixth row floor seat for $25 ii you can believe it! Anyway, I was ridin' high on the music, among other things, and it was truly an incredible day.

I was living in Chicago, going to grad school, on limited income, so naturally I figured 3 Tinley Park shows were enough. This is one I regret not going to, though. A lot of the show was merely very good, ordinary songs well-played, but then there were the parts that were transcendent. Let It Grow for example.

After scouring the parking lots in blazing heat for some paper a group of us gave up hope and headed for the entrance. On the way in I caught the eye of a dude who looked like he had something and I guess he thought I looked like a guy who was looking for something. I scored and our entire group dropped and were on our merry way in. Just as my mind and body began the trip a wave of CSN music flooded the stadium and everyone was in absolute heaven.
