This was my first show. My aunt took me for my birthday. Before this my exposure to the Dead was 'American Beauty', 'In the Dark' and that 'Skeletons in the Closet' greatest hits thing. I had no idea what to expect. Needless to say, the bus came by and I got on. My mind was blown...and then it all made sense. I had a lump in my throat during the "sweet William, he is dead..." line in Peggy O. This is a real solid show. Killer 'Wang Dang Doodle', 'Bird Song' is exquisite.

Another superb exposition of the sights of the sounds of the trips festival. This concert is powerful all the way through ~ as a fire storm. Phil's flame-breathed and oxygen-sucking sound cause a dancer to spin out of control through the entire escapade. Some minor problems on First Set, of course ~ the usual drop-outs and clicks and pops ~ but it all settles into a spontaneous second set capped off in grandeur by Stella Blue.
