Second Set wails. It's all good. Some small quirks with recording. Not pristine, but rockin'! The Wheel is the piece de resistance because all of it is in the leading up to it as Black Peter. An even, simplistic and understated tone throughout it assuages the pangs of darkness like a cool breeze on a sweaty brow. Doesn't deserve a 5 in either recording or performance, but the unforgettable moments extant make the music prevail. It's just a wheel good time.

I've seen this show dismissed as a "warmup" show. Although weaker than the next two nights (and somewhat better than the New Year's Eve show), it is a solid show and well-played. My only complaint might be that the Scarlet>Fire seems rushed, but this is typical for 1991. The sound and mix is pretty good too. For that reason, I'm going to give this show 4 stars.
