This was a great show for me, got busted earlier in the day, made bail, made the show in peace. The next day i got some real trouble though. The police in Virginia are brutal.During So many roads Jerry had a music stand in front of him, this was before the lyrics monitors.I was about 2 or 3 people back right in front of the fat man,no seats on floor!!!!!! The end of the last highpoint for the band with Hornsby. I also rememeber that these were stealth shows.

I remember tickets going on sale outside of my dorm at the Mosque (a venue that the dead played at back in the day), so I purchased two tickets for each night. I am so blessed to have these recordings; (1) because it was my first show. 2)I lost my head that night:) The Help/Slip/Franklin's opener is tight. The Eye's as a second set opener is sweet! Now I know why they call the coliseum the spaceship because I was transported somewhere else that night.

It in fact seems that the Dead had a special relationship with Hampton Coliseum, and this night was no different. I was among the sold-out crowd with 2 of my best friends, and nearly lost my mind when they opened with Help On The Way -> Slipknot! -> Franklins Tower. I Need A Miracle was the peak for me, and US Blues closed the show with a wonderful light show. All-in-all a great night. The sound quality of the download is top-notch, after a not-quite-mixed-right first few minutes.
