This was a very memorable week for me. I was living just outside of Charlotte at the time and attended the two Coliseum shows, took a day break and then attended the two Jimmy Buffett shows at the Charlotte Blockbuster Pavillion. The police presence at both events was bizarre. At the Dead shows, the cops were out in force, both undercover and in uniform. They even had an area ropped off, had set up banquet tables and were processing Heads they'd been busting all day for various drug charges.

2nd Night of a two night run and man was I beat. As usual I totally destroyed myself the first night so this night was more or less a breather until the RFK trip. Don't remember much of the night except chillin. Met some outstanding people (jonesing on the wing-out(whatever that means)) My First and only Dark Star jam, although I remember a tease and not a jam. The Satisfaction encore stands out.

The Charlotte shows were my first, but the second night (6/18) took the cake with the instrumental Dark Star and Satisfaction (I swear the missing link was dancing beside me during the encore...I'll never forget that "caveman-looking" fella). By the way, did anyone else sleep at Yogi's campground that night and dance with Yogi bear in a huge drum circle?
